Social Director: Twitter Vets Face Off in Epic Heads-Up Final

December 22 2011, Bill Seibert

Topics: Epic Poker League, December Main Event, Chris Klodnicki, Andrew Lichtenberger, Twitter [+]

The heads-up battle in the recently completed December $20,000 Epic Poker League Main Event came down to Chris Klodnicki and Andrew Lichtenberger. In a novel Mix-Max format, the two played the best-of-three heads-up match to determine the winner.  Carrying their respective deep chip stacks into the match, the first round won by Klodnicki took almost four hours. Klodnicki would ultimately prevail to claim the $801,000 prize, champion’s ring, and title. Lichtenberger collected $514,000 for his runner-up finish, after taking fourth in last week’s Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic for $218,000.

Both players have had tremendous success online and are making big names for themselves in the live tournament circuit. The two young likable poker pros are active on Twitter as @SLOPPYKLOD (Chris Klodnicki) and @luckychewy (Andrew Lichtenberger). Each enjoys tweeting, although Klodnicki tends to play it straighter while Lichtenberger has a reputation as a fun-loving trickster. Both chose to take a more informational reporting angle to pass along their progress in the recently concluded Epic Poker event.

Some may regret not taking up Klodnicki on his first couple of tweets regarding the Epic Poker event...
