Meet the Players
Twenty-three players made it to Day 3 ("Moving Day"). Just 12 will get
paid and only 8 will make the final table. The 23 competitors exemplify
the rich variety among professional poker players. For example:
* Erik Seidel is having the great single year in poker history, even though he considered retiring before 2011. Mike McDonald, the League's youngest member, turned in the biggest performance ever by an eighteen year old, and already retired as a full-time player.
* Adam Levy and Jonathan Little formed the skills and contacts that made them world-class poker players as teenagers playing Magic the Gathering.
* Isaac Baron studied to be a broadcast journalist. Fabrice Soulier studied television production and has produced documentaries and websites about poker.
* Dutch Boyd was the second-youngest law school graduate in U.S. history.
* Allen Bari worked briefly on Wall Street. Matt Glantz was a securities trader for more than a decade. David Steicke is currently a commodities trader in Hong Kong. Erik Seidel started in poker after being laid off from a Wall Street firm after the crash of 1987.
